Irrational Fears
Phobias are irrational fears with an intense reaction that is unjustified by the actual threat.
Watch this video to understand what a phobia is and how it’s created:
It could be a fear of flying, elevators, heights, bridges, driving on the highway, spiders, crowds, or nearly any other environment, situation, or object. The reaction may range from slight nervousness or total panic. You may avoid those triggers and inconvenience yourself in the process or miss opportunities. Maybe you have suffered from this fear for years or even decades. Perhaps you know when it started or how. But you weren’t born with it. If you watched the above video, you now understand why it actually makes sense (in a weird way) and how to “unlearn” that fear.
“I’m very thankful to have met with Gina. Her calm demeanor and knowledge was crucial in helping me overcome my fears. The progression was quick and painless. She combines skill with compassion which totally puts the patient at ease. If you are ready to make a change in your life, you need to go see Gina.” – Eva Suzanne
One past client explains how we helped her to eliminate the fear of bridges and balconies, which were related to her fear of heights:
“I have had a fear of bridges and balconies for several years. When I went on a balcony thirty floors up, I felt sick and terrified. I couldn’t drive over bridges at all without the palms of my hands sweating and my heart beating so fast I thought it would explode. I wasn’t sure that anything could ever be done for me with my fears, but after only one session, I am completely free of my fears. I drove over the Golden Glades bridge in Miami, and for the first time saw how lovely the buildings looked around me. I actually got to the top of the bridge and clapped my hands I was so happy!! I went to the thirty-second floor apartment of a friend and went out on the balcony, feeling no fear, just peace and calmness. Thank you so very much for giving me back my freedom!” – Marilyn Jiggins
We helped a woman overcome various fears, self-image issues, and poor eating habits:
“Todd Goodwin at Miami Hypnosis Center is amazing. For years, I suffered from fear of heights and not ever being good enough and successful enough. Todd made me believe that anything is possible. I lost the weight I’ve been holding on to as emotional baggage. On my recent vacation to Bahamas, I ate healthy most of the trip and exercised every day! I was able to go to the beach and feel good in my bikini. I went on roller coasters and water slides and actually enjoyed them with my kids. On the plane, I even played calmly with my son instead of panicking when the plane couldn’t land from bad weather. I know I can keep being successful because the fear is gone. Thank you Todd! The results are beyond what I imagined when I first found you.” – Jacqueline Hays
Read what two other clients had to say about their experience overcoming the fear of flying:
“I went to MHC for an intense Fear of flying (planes). Had a very successful experience. Although I will never LOVE flying, I can now fly on planes with a much greater sense of control over my thoughts and feelings…and hence, MUCH lower anxiety and stress. No more losing sleep over taking trips. I’m a total trooper now ;)” – Evelyn Mendal
“Todd Goodwin is exceptional! After just a few sessions, he healed my fear of heights and flying!! Thank you Todd!” – Jodi Strang
This next client had a fear that most people (except for skateboarders) would consider to be a reasonable and rational fear. It’s actually often easier to eliminate an irrational fear, which is what most people experience with a phobia:
“It’s just amazing how powerfull your mind is when you learn how to use it! Not only did I get rid of my fear, gain confidence, trust and ambition, but the knowledge about myself and how my brain works is priceless. It literally has changed my life. I am a skateboarder on my way to becoming pro and on my road to success I hit a wall I thought I was never going to get over, a fear of handrails. This I’m sure is weird to a lot of people but grinding handrails is a must when you are a street skater like me. I tried everything – forcing myself, ignoring it, making excuses, it was extreamly frustrating. In my desperation I ran into a hypnosis website and researched for the best in town and Miami Hypnosis was the place to go. Needless to say the experience was great, it was really easy to feel comfortable, the exercises were fun and mind blowing. I am so happy I went through with it. The same day of my last session I went to the local park and jumped on a handrail with no second thoughts, it was like magic, like a new me.” – Johnny Rey
